April 17, 2013 - ASM Sends Letter to Congress Regarding FY 2014 Funding
The ASM signed onto a letter as a member of the Informal Coalition on Biodefense and Public Health Preparedness to support funding for programs critical to the nation’s preparedness against threats, whether naturally occurring or deliberate, such as a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) event.
April 17, 2013 - ASM Signs onto Coalition CLFS Letter
The ASM signed onto a letter from the Clinical Laboratory Coalition outlining serious concern and opposition to further reducing the Medicare Part B Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule (CLFS) as proposed in the President’s 2014 Budget. It was sent to the Chair and Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee.

The ASM joined with the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI) Coalition to send a letter to Congress regarding funding for AFRI.
February 11, 2013 - ASM Signs onto Coalition Letter Concerning the Impact of Continued Cuts to the NIH Budget
The ASM signed onto an Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research-led community sign-on letter expressing concern about the impact of continued cuts to NIH. The letter was sent to all Members of Congress, with a total of 273 signatories.
